988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline provides free and confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States.

The Lifeline is comprised of a national network of over 160 local crisis centers, combining custom local care and resources with national standards and best practices.

Lifeline services are available in English (988), for Spanish language speakers (1-888-628-9454), and for individuals who may be deaf or hard of hearing (1-800-799-4889).

Headfirst

At Philadelphia Union Foundation, we are committed to changing the game on mental health. HeadFirst is our groundbreaking program aimed at promoting mental health awareness and providing support within the soccer community. We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health and that creating a strong support network is the key to a healthy, happy life.

We believe in using the power of sports to drive social change. We are incredibly grateful for our founding partner Independence, whose support has enabled us to initiate this program that addresses a wide range of challenges that our community faces. From education to health and wellness, we aim to make a difference through this program. Safe Spaces

The Philadelphia Union Foundation is deeply dedicated to harnessing the power of soccer as a catalyst for transformative change within our community. Through our "Safe Spaces" initiative, in collaboration with other organizations that share our passion we pledge to construct state-of-the-art mini pitches.

We have wholeheartedly aligned with the U.S. Soccer Foundation's ambitious vision of establishing 1,000 new specialized soccer arenas across the nation by 2026, aiming to promote healthier lifestyles and more active youth. Learn more »

Chester Soccer

Our mission is to provide the youth of Chester, PA, with a transformative soccer experience, under the direction of the Philadelphia Union and its Foundation. We aim to empower young athletes, instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and personal growth, while promoting access to the sport and fostering community engagement. Through soccer, we strive to create a positive impact in the lives of our players, their families, and the broader Chester community.

Chester Soccer Initiative is made up of two major components:

  • Chester Union, a philanthropic soccer club for Chester boys and girls of all ages.
  • Development, operation and funding of the High School Boys and Girl's teams of the Chester School District.
